Many academics will tell you that a dogged pursuit of the “Three Rs” – readin’, writin’ and ‘rithmetic – are the components necessary to the foundation that supports a successful career. Boston Reid has lived his life in passionate pursuit of his own “Two Rs” – racing and renovating. And so far the formula is proving to work just fine.
Early into his career as a NASCAR driver, Reid held aspirations of rising above his peers, collecting various recognitions, awards and accolades along the way. But when he earned Rookie of the Year honors from The Charlotte Regional Realtor® Association in December 2010, Reid’s dreams had shifted away from the glory of checkered flags and trips to victory lane to the less glamorous but equally satisfying world of termite inspections and mortgage closings. And he wouldn't have it any other way.
“I always knew I would never drive forever, so this was the next logical step for me,” Reid said. “And I haven’t looked back.”
Growing up in Indiana, Reid was drawn to real estate early – his family owned and operated a successful real estate and development company so he was familiar with the ins and outs of the business. But it wasn’t until he moved to Charlotte and began driving in NASCAR that he decided to pursue real estate, renovating and selling properties. His family’s background in the field made it an easy transition from racing to real estate.
After a successful run through the racing world, including stints in a Formula 1 driver development program with Red Bull Racing and a subsequent run with Hendrick Motorsports and NASCAR’s Camping World Truck Series, it was clear to Reid it was more about helping open doors for other people instead of sliding through them himself. Armed with confidence and industry know-how, Reid launched Lead 2 Real Estate Group with business partner and NASCAR insider Frank Bolter.
Bolter and Reid met through a mutual need. Bolter was looking for an honest, hard-working realtor® and Reid was looking for a business partner help fill a niche. And it’s this synergy that they expect to help their business grow – with roots that grow deep within the racing community and are coupled with a passion for hard work.
“Motorsports has been our foundation and it’s just grown from there,” Bolter said. “As we looked a little deeper into the industry, we discovered people really wanted the same attention to detail in their personal lives that they had grown to expect from their professional lives. "We have recently expanded our firm with a team of brokers who all hold ties to racing community. From a former team general manager to a marketing and public relations specialist, our brokers come from a diverse background but share a common drive to provide unparalleled service to our clients."
Bolter’s former company, Corporate Image, was a leading graphics design and production company for some of NASCAR’s top teams. The innovative vinyl graphics company helped teams save time formerly reserved for tedious painting by instead providing time-saving, eye-catching wrap graphics that can be applied in a fraction of the time.
“In addition to our connections to the racing community, our firm also fills a measurable need,” Bolter said. “We’re willing to do all the leg work, regardless of the size of the property or the listing, to help someone find a comfortable home they can afford without worry. Not everyone is willing to do that."
